Depart from individualism and learn to live with others.

Lise - CLBI StudentAt CLBI I entered an experience of living everyday within a Christian community. It’s not at all like going to church once a week. At Bible school a Christian family surrounded me from the moment I woke up until bedtime. Other people who shared my faith in Jesus Christ were around me each day.

As a group of students we agree to live by certain rules and accept consequences in order to make the campus a safe place, to not be a stumbling block to one another, and to make God our focus. We challenge each other to look to the Bible for how to better deal with situations that we fall into in our daily lives. The Christian community of CLBI holds us accountable for our actions, grants us grace for actions, and challenges us to deepen our faith. As individuals and as a group we strive for the ultimate goal – becoming who we are in Jesus Christ and growing in our relationship with Him. We are strengthened in this community to be able to take leaps in our faith, knowing we have God and a new family in Christ to catch us when we fall.

Living in the CLBI community is an experience you will never forget. More than that, it is likely an experience you will never have again. The friendships built will last a lifetime. In this community we are called to enjoy life, grow from it, take advantage of what can be learned, and be brought closer to God

dorm life

GuysA vital aspect of the CLBI experience is living in residence. Dorm life provides a unique opportunity for personal and spiritual growth in a Christian community. The Director(s) of Residence Life work together with student Resident Assistants to give guidance and supervision to life in the dormitory.

There is a men’s and a women’s residence facility on campus as well as a cafeteria where students receive well balanced meals. Married couples are encouraged to find a residence off-campus. All others are encouraged to live on campus. The capacity in the dormitories is seventy students.

expectations of conduct

ShovelThose who show themselves earnest in their desire to know Christ more intimately, follow Him more closely, and serve God more faithfully, and who commit themselves to make diligent use of the program and opportunities of the school are welcomed as students. Evaluation of this will be based on information received in the application file.

The programs at CLBI require a full-time commitment by students for the preparation of class assignments, for worship and prayer, and for training in Christian ministries.

All students are expected to co-operate voluntarily with regulations for the maintenance of wholesome conditions for student life and for exemplary Christian conduct. The first semester is a period of probation for all new students.

participation in work duties

MopChrist’s example was one of being a servant. Students have opportunity to contribute to the CLBI community through work duties.

CLBI is able to help keep tuition, room and board, and other expenses lower by involving students in this manner. Each full-time student is assigned a work duty expected to take approximately five hours per week, assisting in various areas of the school’s needs. Most duties are fulfilled during an hour of work immediately following lunch each day. Jobs include construction, food services, washing dishes, maintenance, office work, cleaning, etc.
