We pray for the whole student body as they have traveled to Vancouver, BC to prepare for the ministry they will be doing during the 2010 Olympics. Bless the students and staff as they participate in training for effective outreach events during this exciting time.
Although not airborne yet, the CLBI IMPACT teams are moving toward the tarmac as second year students met for their first Cross Cultural Prep Class the week of Sept 28th-Oct 2nd. Students received initial flight plans and instructions as they began to taxi away from the terminal eventually bound for destinations in Asia, Africa and South America. Flight instructors Rob Lewis and Jonathan Aicken will give the final clearance for take-off following flight school # 2 December 7th-11th.
We are delighted that Jonathan Aicken is now onboard as the future “Captain” of the IMPACT program. Jonathan and his wife Marina along with 2 year old Amy arrived back in Canada in early June following four years of service with World Mission Prayer League (WMPL) in Erdenet, Mongolia. As Rob Lewis assumes more responsibility as WMPL Associate Director for East Asia, Jonathan will transition into the position of Director of the Cross Cultural IMPACT Program. The Aickens training, experience, youth and vision will bring freshness and cause the program to move forward in an effective way.
Your prayers are the essential key to a safe taxi, precise take off, a smooth landing and effective service.
Thank you so much for your support as we once again anticipate that these young adults will both IMPACT and be IMPACTED by the people and cultures to which they will journey.
-Rob Lewis, IMPACT Director
