We want to thank you for supporting your son or daughter as they consider coming to CLBI for a first year and beyond. Every year we are amazed by the quality students with which CLBI is blessed. We truly believe that we have some of the best students out there! And we are honoured to have the opportunity to walk alongside them and help
them become more of what Christ is calling them to be.
We realize the commitment it takes on your part - emotionally, spiritually and often financially - to help them get to this place. We want to thank you for that, and for sharing a part of your family with us!
Looking For What Really Matters
Often when students, parents and counsellors are making decisions about post-secondary education they look at factors such as the size of the institution, reputation, degrees offered or training for the marketplace. While these certainly are important factors, it is also necessary to ask, “What kind of outcomes do we desire?” What do you want to happen within the heart and soul of your son or daughter?
In terms of outcomes, CLBI is committed to:
Character Formation - Currently our society is facing a crisis of character. Employers in any field will tell you of the high value of integrity. Increasingly, we see the need to develop people of commitment and character. CLBI gives special attention to what is below the surface through personal mentorship, engaging small groups, and experiential learning. We share your commitment to your son or daughter's character, knowing that what they will do in the future is not nearly as important as who they will become.
Faith Development - No matter where our students go or what kind of field they enter, building a firm foundation of faith is vital. We share your commitment in seeing your son or daughter's faith go the distance, upholding and informing every aspect of their lives. Taking time to study God's Word, live in Christian community, and be discipled to orient one's life around the person and mission of Jesus Christ is always a fruitful endeavour!
Solid Life Skills - We want our students to learn to live well in every area of life. CLBI is a highly relational environment where students live in tight-knit Christian community. This high level of interaction between staff and students enables the values of God's kingdom to be shared and practiced. Through classes centred on anything from books of the Bible to personal finances, through life in the dorms, and stretching new opportunities, students learn to live faithfully away from home. CLBI seeks to be a bridge between life at home and life on their own, as we walk alongside students into increased responsibility and independence.
Sense of Purpose - As students study God's Word and experience various ministry opportunities, they learn of His intricate plans for their lives and for the world. We share your commitment in seeing students discover how God has designed them, and to respond with lives of joyful worship and service. Our goal is to encourage within students the desire to engage our culture with the message of the Gospel. There is nothing quite like seeing students come alive to God's invitation and purpose for their lives!
We believe that a year or two given to intentional discipleship is a worthy investment that will not disappoint the participant nor their parents. We have gathered some resources we hope will be helpful for you to learn more about the discipleship approach of CLBI and stay connected with what is going on here at the school.
